400 IRONWOOD TREES ALONG KALAKAUA AVENUE

WILL BE PRUNED BEGINNING MONDAY

 

(Thurs., October 25, 2012) A Division of Urban Forestry contractor will begin pruning ironwood trees located along both sides and in the median of Kalakaua Avenue, from Kapahulu Avenue to the end at the grove in Kapiolani Park, on Monday, October 29, 2012.  Work is expected to last several weeks, as more than 400 trees are affected.

 

            Work will be conducted on weekdays only between 8:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.  Although the work will mainly impact the park area, motorists are advised to use alternate routes as some lanes may be closed intermittently during the day.
