SEWER PROJECTS DURING DECEMBER

(Fri., Nov. 30, 2012) – The City and County of Honolulu's Department of Environmental Services will be working on eight major sewer projects in December that may impact roadways and traffic on Oahu.

         The projects include:

Ø       Beachwalk Wastewater Pump Station to Ala Moana Park Sewer Phase 1, Force Main System – Installation of a new sewer line along Ala Moana Blvd (between Atkinson Dr and Ala Wai Canal), and along Ala Wai Blvd (between Kalakaua Ave to the dead end of Ala Wai Blvd).

Ø       Hanawai Circle Sewer Reconstruction – Installation and rehabilitation of new sewer line along Farrington Highway (between Waipahu Depot St and Hanawai Circle) and along Waipahu Depot St (between Farrington Highway and Waipahu St).

Ø       Houghtailing Street Area Sewer Rehabilitation – Sewer rehabilitation work in Kamehameha Heights area on various streets within the area bordered by North School St, Kokea St, Kamalii St, Aulii St, Ilima Dr, Makanani Dr and Kapalama Dr.

Ø       Moiliili-Kapahulu Sewer Rehabilitation/Reconstruction Sewer – Installation and rehabilitation of new sewer line along Date St (between Pumehana and Lukepane St).

Ø       Niu Valley Wastewater Pump Station Force Main removal of by-pass and restoration work – Removal and restoration work on Kalanianaole Highway at the intersections of Puuikena St, West Halemaumau St and Niuiki Circle.

Ø       Saint Louis Heights Sewer Rehabilitation – Sewer rehabilitation work on various streets with the area bordered by Bertram St., Kaminaka Dr, Saint Louis Dr and Dole St.

Ø       Waikiki Sewer Rehabilitation – Sewer rehabilitation work along Kuhio Ave between Kuamoo St and Kaiulani Ave.

Ø       Wilder Avenue and Metcalf Street Sewer Rehabilitation – Sewer rehabilitation work along Wilder Ave (between Metcalf St and Evelyn Ln).

         Approximately 108 projects are underway focused on Oahu's wastewater treatment plants, pump stations and collection system. These projects are part of $610 million of ongoing wastewater projects, including planning, designing, construction, project management and equipment project phases.
