SOME ENCHANTED EVENING AT THE MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S GLEAM

(Fri., July 6, 2012)—Spend a magical, mystical evening at Foster Botanical Gardens Saturday, July 14, from 4:30 to 9:30 p.m., when the annual Midsummer Night’s Gleam transforms the garden into a delightful wonderland of magic for the entire family. 

            The gardens, located at 50 North Vineyard Boulevard, will host a variety of family entertainment from the main stage at the upper terrace, featuring belly dancers from MEDAH, the Yenug Duk Dragon & Lion Dance Association, Hawaiian music by Kai Holu, Skylark, bagpipes, Celtic music, and a harp ensemble.

            For the keiki, the staff has prepared a variety of continuous activities from 4:30 to 9:30 p.m., such as face and botanical watercolor painting, balloon animals, seed toss, arts and crafts, making head bands, leaf rubbing fans, lauhala star and dolls, as well as activities around the wishing tree, harvest table, and bow and arrow shooting.  Spend the day at Foster Botanical Gardens, and treat yourself to scrumptious gourmet food from the Simply Ono lunch wagon, available from 4:30 to 9:30 p.m.

            The Midsummer Night’s Gleam is a delightful treat for all your senses. While hundreds of tree lights twinkle from above and 2,500 luminaries light the pathways from below, Mongolian Tribesmen and their fighting knights provide visual excitement, and the fragrance of night blooming flowers complete the magic of your enchanted evening.
