Lions Club volunteers to patch more Waikiki sidewalks this Saturday

Waikiki − Hawaii’s Lions Clubs and the city’s Department of Facility Maintenance (DFM) will once again work together to patch and repair uneven sidewalks in Waikiki this Saturday, Oct. 26, from 8 to 11 a.m.

The project will involve members of various Lions Clubs supervised by a crew from DFM’s Division of Road Maintenance. The volunteers will patch cracks and deteriorated sidewalks on Kuhio Avenue between Kalakaua and Kaiulani avenues.

By patching uneven and damaged sidewalks, trip hazards will be mitigated and pedestrians will enjoy safer walkways.  The Lions Clubs plan to continue scheduling sidewalk patching events in the coming months at various island locations.

Mayor Kirk Caldwell joined the volunteers at their most recent sidewalk patching event on Oct. 12 in Waikiki and thanked them for their hard work improving the city.
