Lions Club volunteers to help improve sidewalks in Waipahu and Chinatown

 

Waipahu, Chinatown – The Department of Facility Maintenance (DFM) and the Lions Club will be working together to improve more sidewalks.

 

The Leeward Lions Club will be working in Waipahu this Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013 from 8 to 11 a.m.  The project will involve improving sidewalks on Waipahu Depot Street under the supervision of a crew from DFM’s Division of Road Maintenance. 

 

Additionally, DFM, the Chinatown Lions Club, and the Chinatown Improvement District will be working in Chinatown on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013 from 8 to 11 a.m., improving sidewalks on Pauahi, Hotel, and Smith streets. DFM will continue work with the volunteers in the Chinatown area over the coming months. 

 

The volunteers contribute greatly to the city’s efforts to keep Honolulu friendly for pedestrians.
