KAPOLEI, HI – The City’s Storm Water Quality Branch of the Department of Environmental Services (ENV) is conducting cleanups this Saturday, Nov. 16, in both Kailua and Manoa as part of its “Make-A-Difference Day.”


Volunteers at the Kailua Adopt-a-Block cleanup will meet at Huakailani School at 8:30 a.m.  Participants will be picking up trash and marking storm drains along Hekili Street.  The cleanup runs to 10 a.m. 


Participants wanting to assist in the Manoa Adopt-a-Stream cleanup will meet at Woodlawn Bridge at 9:30 a.m.  Volunteers will remove debris from Manoa Stream.  The cleanup finishes at noon.


ENV partners with businesses, schools, public officials, the state and military organizations.  The cleanups will provide educational materials on reducing trash.


Participants should dress to get dirty and bring the following:  water, hat, old covered shoes and sunscreen.  All participants must sign a release form to participate.
