KAPOLEI, KAIMUKI, KANEOHE CLEANUPS THIS FRIDAY, SATURDAY
KAPOLEI, HI – The City’s Storm Water Quality Branch of the Department of Environmental Services (ENV) is conducting cleanups as part of its “Make-A-Difference Day” this Friday, Oct. 25, in Kapolei and Saturday, Oct. 26, in Kaimuki and Kaneohe.
In Kapolei, volunteers will meet at Kapolei Hale at 10:30 a.m. and remove debris along Uluohia Street and around the bus depot. The cleanup is 11 am to noon.
In Kaimuki, volunteers need to check-in by 7:30 a.m. at the Kaimuki District Park. The cleanup runs from 8-11 a.m.
In Kaneohe, volunteers should check-in at Castle High School in room 37 at 8 a.m. to help clean Kawa Stream. The cleanup is from 8:30-11 a.m.
ENV partners with businesses, schools, public officials, the state and military organizations. The cleanups will provide educational materials on reducing trash.
Participants should dress to get dirty and bring the following: water, hat, old covered shoes and sunscreen. All participants must sign a release form to participate.
