KAPOLEI, HI – The City’s Storm Water Quality Branch of the Department of Environmental Services (ENV) is conducting Adopt-a-Stream cleanups as part of its “Make-A-Difference Day” this Saturday, Oct. 19, in Niu Valley and Ewa Beach.


In Niu Valley, volunteers need to check-in by 8 a.m. at Niu Stream next to Niu Valley Shopping Center The Niu Stream cleanup starts at 8:30 a.m. 


In Ewa Beach, volunteers should check in at Ewa Beach drainage canal located at 91-545 Ft. Weaver Road at 8:30 a.m.  The cleanup begins at 9:00 a.m.  Cleanups last about two hours.


ENV partners with businesses, schools, public officials, the state and military organizations.  The cleanups will provide educational materials on reducing trash.


Participants should dress to get dirty and bring the following:  water, hat, old covered shoes and sunscreen.  All participants must sign a release form to participate.
