Honolulu Hale – On Nov. 27, Mayor Kirk Caldwell signed the following four bills into law:
· Bill 46, CD1
To rezone lands situated at 1812 Kalakaua Avenue and a portion of Kalakaua Avenue, Mccully, Oahu, Hawaii
· Bill 48, CD1, FD1
To rezone lands situated at Waipio, Central, Oahu, Hawaii (Note: “Koa Ridge”)
· Bill 53, CD2, FD1
Relating to open data
· Bill 55, FD1
Relating to the Grants in Aid Fund (Note: minor technical amendment to the original legislation)
Burt Lum, Executive Director of Hawaii Open Data, applauded Mayor Caldwell’s signing of Bill 53.
"This administration has continued to support the principles of open government and with the signing of Bill 53, Mayor Caldwell has codified that effort into an ordinance,” said Lum. “It is with this type of leadership we see the C&C of Honolulu ushering in a new era of transparency and citizen engagement."
Mayor Caldwell plans to roll out several open data initiatives with the redesign of Honolulu.gov early next year.
