Honolulu − Today, Wednesday, August 28, 2013, at 3:00 p.m., the City and County of Honolulu will recognize the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech by ringing the Aloha Liberty Bell Replica in front of The Mission Memorial Building at 550 South King Street.
The event is part of an effort coordinated by The Martin Luther King, Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change that will have municipalities across the nation and the world “Let Freedom Ring” at 3:00 p.m. in their respective time zones to pay tribute to the history that took place fifty years ago.
The bell will ring for one minute and members of the public are welcome to attend.
