“Stormtroopers” to collect Toys for Tots

Honolulu – The 501st Legion, an international fan-based group dedicated to accurate costuming, and widely known for constructing and wearing the attire of villains from the Star Wars universe, will make a special appearance at Honolulu Hale on Dec. 13, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

“Stormtroopers” of the 501st Legion-Pacific Outpost will be in full costume to help collect toys for the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots program during the Honolulu City Lights festival.

Visitors are encouraged to bring new, unwrapped gifts when stopping by the Honolulu Hale courtyard where the Stormtroopers will be stationed.  The Marine Corps has led the Toys for Tots drive in Hawaii since 1948, making the holidays brighter for many thousands of children.  All toys collected in Honolulu are distributed to children in Hawaii.

For more information on the Toys for Tots collection at Honolulu Hale, please contact the Mayor’s Office of Culture and the Arts at 768-6622.
