ENV Responds to Sewer Overflow in Palolo

KAPOLEI The City’s Department of Environmental Services responded this morning to a wet weather sanitary sewer overflow in Palolo.

ENV received the call at 7:28 a.m., arrived at the site at 7:58 a.m. where the flow subsided at 9:24 a.m.

Heavy rains surcharged a 12-inch sewer pipe at 2010 9th Ave. causing 2,950 gallons of untreated wastewater out a manhole and into a storm drain that leads to Palolo Stream.

ENV crews cleaned, disinfected and deodorized the area.  State Department of Health has been notified.  Warning signs are being posted and water sampling is underway.
