ENV RESPONDS TO SSO IN KALIHI

The call came in at 11:13 a.m. An ENV crew arrived at noon and secured the site at 1:42 p.m.
Roots clogged a 12-inch pipe discharging an estimated 7,450 gallons of untreated wastewater from a manhole into Kalihi Stream.
ENV notified the state Department of Health. ENV is in the process of cleaning, disinfecting and deodorizing the affected area near the overflow. Warning signs are being posted and water sampling is underway. The public is advised to stay out of the affected waterway until warning signs have been taken down.
