I.          CALL TO ORDER at 7:00 p.m.

 

II.         PUBLIC SAFETY 7 COMMUNITY LIAISON (35 Minutes)

      Questions in private or in writing to these officials before or after they speak would be greatly appreciated to save time.

McCully Recreation Center Short Term Master Plan – Presented by Gary Doi, Department of Design and Construction and Bill Chang, Consultant

 

V.                  HOUSEKEEPING ( 5 Minutes) For information and action if necessary.

 

A.  Neighborhood Commission Meeting Report from October 22nd meeting focused on training and complaint hearings from Leeward neighborhood boards.

B.  Neighborhood Board Task Force Meetings held every other Monday. November meetings are the 5th and the 19th, 4:00 p.m. at Honolulu Hale.

C.  OMPO October 17th meeting Cliff Slatter presented explaining costs of different rail systems. Next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, November 21st, 3:30 p.m. at Honolulu Hale

D.  Stream / Watershed Status Report see www.manoawatershed.oceanit.com

i.    Ala Wai Canal Bypass Update - Go to www.beachwalkbypass.com

ii.    Hausten Ditch - No action due to cost

iii.   Makiki Stream Clean-up Saturday, October 20th, had over 50 people participating

E.  Hawaii 2050 – Go to www.hawaii2050.org to review a copy of the DRAFT Sustainability Plan now available (87 pages). Public comments are due Saturday, November 10th

G.  Graffiti Update - Cameras for catching ‘taggers’ is an ongoing discussion at the City Council.  Councilmember Ann Kobayashi, the City’s IT people and Chair LockwoodI will be working to make sure McCully – Moiliili is the ‘test area’ when the City is ready to begin this project. We will be calling on our neighborhood’s T.A.G. committee to oversee this project. No date has yet been established for start up.

H.   New meeting site for regular meeting location starting February 2008 and beyond.

 

VI.        RESIDENTS’ CONCERNS (10 Minutes)  - One item per resident (1 minute) until everyone has spoken.  Two turns maximum.  Questions for Public Safety & Community Liaison should have been addressed in Section II above please.

A. *Shopping Carts - Recommendation by Public Safety & Legislative Affairs Committee for future legislation

B. *Date Street Mini Park Closure Hours - Resolution to request Department of Parks and Recreation to close park at 10 p.m. for public health and safety (By request, Department of Parks and Recreation and HPD)

C. *Permitted Interactive Group for Neighborhood Plan - Up to seven members of this Board may attend any of the following scheduled meetings:  Saturday, Nov. 3rd 10 a.m. – noon at Kapolei Hale or 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Windward College (Hale Akoakoa). On Monday Nov. 5th from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Honolulu Hale

 

IX.    APPROVAL OF MINUTES (3 Minutes) - Written corrections are encouraged to expedite time for July, August, and October minutes

 

X.    TREASURER’S REPORT (2 Minutes) – Treasurer Les Hata
