Aloha and welcome to the City and County of Honolulu's Honolulu Fire Department (HFD)
Firecracker E-Permit Application System

From this site, you will be able to purchase one firecracker permit for one firing location at a time.

On January 2, 2011, an islandwide partial fireworks ban placed restrictions on pyrotechnics use for Oahu residents.   The possession and use of fountains, sparklers, aerial fireworks, and other consumer fireworks are illegal and not permitted.   A firecracker permit and a valid identification (ID) is required to purchase and use firecrackers on Oahu.   You must be at least 18 years old to obtain a firecracker permit.   Each permit is nontransferable and allows a one-time purchase of up to 5,000 firecrackers.   An application for a firecracker permit may be completed at any time; however, a firecracker permit must be purchased at least ten days prior to the date of use (event date).  For example, December 21st is the last day to purchase a firecracker permit for New Year’s Eve.

**THE PERMIT FEE IS NONREFUNDABLE, AND AN APPROVED PERMIT DOES NOT GUARANTEE FIRECRACKERS ARE AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE.**

Firecrackers may only be used on the following holidays and designated times:

Firecrackers may also be used from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. for cultural events, such as, but not limited to, anniversaries, births, blessings, deaths, grand openings, and weddings.
